Medical Doctor | Midlife Health, Menopause, Healthy Ageing & Aesthetic Medicine
Dr Sibulele Mpu is a medical doctor whose work centres on advancing excellence in midlife health, menopause care and healthy ageing. She is committed to helping women and men navigate the physiological, hormonal and metabolic transitions of midlife through evidence-based, personalised medical care.
Following her medical training at Stellenbosch University, Dr Mpu gained broad clinical experience across both tertiary and rural healthcare settings in South Africa. Her work has included surgery, trauma, paediatrics, neonatology, internal medicine and community healthcare, providing a strong foundation in comprehensive patient care. She has also contributed to Project Flamingo, an initiative dedicated to improving access to timely surgical care for patients across South Africa.
Recognising the growing need for specialised midlife healthcare, Dr Mpu has developed a particular focus on menopause medicine, healthy ageing and preventative health strategies. She is a member of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS), the International Menopause Society (IMS) and the South African Menopause Society (SAMS). Through the EMAS JuMP Programme, she is currently involved in research exploring menopause care gaps across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on improving awareness, access and standards of care for women navigating the menopausal transition.
Alongside her clinical interests in midlife health, Dr Mpu has completed advanced training and certification in aesthetic medicine, including Botulinum Toxin Type A treatments, dermal fillers, biostimulators, medical-grade chemical peels and peptide-based therapies. Her approach emphasises natural, elegant outcomes that complement overall health and wellbeing while preserving each patient’s individuality.
Dr Mpu believes that modern healthcare should extend beyond the treatment of disease. Her practice integrates preventative medicine, menopause and andropause care, metabolic health, regenerative therapies and aesthetic medicine to help patients preserve health span, maintain functional independence and optimise quality of life over the long term.
She believes that the coming decades will require a more integrated approach to healthcare, one that bridges preventative medicine, hormonal health, longevity science and patient-centred care. Patients value her thoughtful approach, clinical thoroughness and commitment to delivering care that is both scientifically rigorous and deeply personal.
She is committed to building a model of healthcare that combines medical excellence, patient education and long-term partnership in health. Her vision is to contribute to a future of healthcare that integrates preventative medicine, hormonal health, healthy ageing and evidence-based longevity strategies, enabling patients to preserve health span and thrive through the decades that matter most.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr Mpu maintains interests in research, mentorship and healthcare entrepreneurship, with a broader vision of improving access to high-quality, evidence-based care across Africa.
